The Tulip Vase
The year 2019 with the national theme "The Golden Age" inspired the Land Art Delft Foundation (LAD) and Paula Kouwenhoven to make the LANDMARK DELFT project plan "The Tulip Vase".
Project "The Tulip Vase" consists of the development and realization of a landmark visible from the A13 in the cultural-historical polder landscape of Midden Delfland in cooperation with, among others, the Royal Delft "De Porceleyne Fles". This unique landscape, to be preserved for the future and activated through the placement of high-quality artworks and educational projects, is the intention of LAD.
Hortus Oculus
The Hortus Oculus is an experience garden with visual art for both people with a visual impairment and the sighted person. The specially designed garden is embedded in the Land Art Delft landscape park, a green oasis between Rotterdam and The Hague. Since 2003, Land Art Delft has been a beneficial symbiosis of the cultural-historical polder landscape, the vibrant nature and the visual arts.
Willowhenge
Visual artist Paula Kouwenhoven wants to make a monument on the site for World Art Delft with the Willowhenge project, using a typical Dutch material, the pollard willow. This grows very well in the wet soil of the nature reserve of the Midden Delfland. The willowhenge you can see in the landscape park from Land Art Delft.
Luisterbankjes
Young people describe the landscape for people with a visual impairment. For these people, for example, the special coulisse landscape is hard to imagine. You cannot make this experience smell or feel, but it must above all be told. That is why we created this project. We want young people to observe the landscape and then ask them to tell about this area.
We develop benches that are placed in Hortus Oculus. Ideally they are 12 benches. Made from solid material and with a pleasant and safe seating comfort. The benches are equipped with an easy-to-use sound system. You sit comfortably, with your feet on the ground, with the sun and the wind on your skin, while children tell their stories about the landscape in front of you.
